Project Status Under develompent
Project Type Studio Project
Primary Software Used Unreal / Miro / Google Workspace / Github
Primary Role(s) Game Design / System Design

I designed systems, diagrams, and gameloops to provide solutions and structure to the development process. My goal was to create a cohesive and well-organized game design that would guide the development team and ensure that the final product meets the intended vision.

To achieve this, I began by identifying the main pillar, the 4 features that make the game what it should be. I then created documentation to illustrate how these systems would work together, identifying potential bottlenecks or issues.

Brainstorming

I designed four game ideas that have received high acceptance from the team. In my approach I prioritize the concept of subtractive design. I started simple and clearly with an emphasis on the fun factor and theme for each game. I believe that new mechanics and systems can organically evolve while supporting the core idea. This philosophy closely aligns with Nintendo's approach to game development.

When it comes to generating ideas, I avoid relying solely on a single big idea. Instead, I explore a diverse range of possibilities and thoroughly document them. This enables me to share with my team or target audience. I not only foster my creativity but also prevent frustration along the way.

Pedro Giglio. Screenwriter at Brand New Wathever.

I had the honor and the opportunity to work with Alexis during the recently... started development phase for Toledot, a GameJam+ 2020/2021 submission. He has kept a notable balance in maintaining the team's original vision for the game while also allowing himself to remain open to new learnings and perspectives. His genuine curiosity and drive to learn more during our weekly meetings to discuss the story and plot-related elements made these enjoyable, exciting and kept my spirits up to deliver the best demo possible. Alexis is warm, friendly and I certainly look forward to working with him again in the future.
